 2011 hyundai genesi Review
2011 hyundai genesi ReviewNot content to simply keep up with the Joneses, Hyundai is already readying an updated version of its Genesis sedan. The Genesis sedan was launched only about a year ago, but Hyundai is updating the big sedan in preparation for the U.S. launch of the larger Equus sedan.
Originally scheduled for the 2012 model year, Hyundai will likely bump the Genesis’ mid-cycle refresh to the 2011 model year to better coincide with the launch of the Equus sedan. Exterior updates will include new front and rear bumpers, updated headlamps and new signature styling on the grille which will give an immediate tie-in to the Equus flagship.
As this is a mid-cycle refresh, and an accelerated one at that, do not expect changes to the vehicle’s core components such as the chassis, suspension, or braking systems. The refresh will be mostly cosmetic, with the slight possibility of an addition of drivetrain technology to be borrowed from the upcoming Equus.
Inside sources have also indicated that the refreshed Genesis sedan will come equipped with a new eight-speed transmission. The Genesis’ current V6 and V8 offerings will remain in the lineup, but a supercharged version of Hyundai’s 4.6-liter Tau V8 has been rumored to enter the mix as an option. If offered, expect the supercharged model to produce in excess of 420 horsepower.
