2011 Lincoln Navigator Review

Lincoln Navigator is Lincoln's full-size luxury SUV. Navigator shares the same platform with any Ford Expedition full-size SUV. Introduced in 1998, Navigator proved extremely popular, comprising 40% of the market for American luxury SUV in 2001. It is the larger of the two truck-based SUVs produced by Lincoln in the early 2000s, the smallest is The Aviator (which becomes MKX 2007). While the current 2006 Lincoln Navigator price range of around $ 50.140 to $ 67.645, the new 2007 Lincoln Navigator has a price range of $ 52.990 to 66.545 dollars. If installed, the Lincoln Navigator price range to over $ 100,000.

The first generation (1998-2002)

Navigator for 1998 introduced the concept of American luxury SUV, competing at first with only Land Rover Range Rover. It was lined with leather, wood, and carpet very well, but its humble pickup truck roots could be easily identified. That did not slow sales, but after the introduction of the Lincoln Navigator 1998 model year the queues for the browser educated. Competitors from Cadillac and GMC Denali with the series soon followed. Like the Cadillac Escalade, Navigator found a spot with celebrities and the customized truck scene.

Upgrades came just one year later with a more powerful DOHC Intech and electric-powered pedal. More luxury features appeared in 2000, including a satellite navigation system and reverse sensing air bag system and secondary schools. No major changes were made in 2001, Navigator was redesigned after 2002.

The second generation (2003-2006)

The browser was updated in 2003 with the Ford Expedition, the new Ford U platform The interior has also been revised to the level expected by luxury buyers. Some of the nifty features began with the new design, including the power running boards that deploy deploy when a side door is opened a power liftgate and a power folding third-row seats.

Tire pressure monitoring was made standard for 2004, with an optional Roll Stability Control, Premium and mid level of the cut line is removed. With a light facelift the powertrain was revised for 2005, 5.4 DOHC V8 with being replaced by a new SOHC 3-valve design borrowed from the F-150, making the wheels through a new ZF Friedrichshafen AG for the automatic 6-speed transmission source. The stability of the system was in all models. An elite package for cutting Ultimate includes a THX audio system, rear seat entertainment, and HID headlamps 2006, the last year of this generation.

Third generation

The 2011 Navigator was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2006. He is joined by a long wheelbase Navigator L based on the Expedition EL and the actions of the new Ford T1 platform with that vehicle. The L model is 14.7 inches (373 mm) longer than the standard browser.

The new Navigator sports a large chromed grille and "power dome" hood to emphasize its size and power. Independent suspension began in the second generation browser. However, the model 2007 has a much better design that makes the new browser to function even better than the vehicle it replaces. The 5.4 L 24-valve InTech engine remains unchanged, however, and is now surpassed in size by the 6.2 L unit in the competition for Cadillac Escalade, but with "power dome" and the next new 6.2 L Ford Hurricane engine capacity and power will be almost equal.

Although most other Lincolns provides a three-letter name of the name of the navigator 2011 will remain unchanged.
