Nissan NV200 Chosen As NYC Taxi Until 2023

Starting from 2013, citizens of New York City are going to see this Nissan NV200 every single day for the next 10 years, as the car has been elected as NYC’s next taxi.
New York has the largest taxi fleet in all of America, so officials are quite picky when it comes to choose the vehicle for the job. Nissan managed to beat Ford in this competition by offering the NV200 which has great qualities for the task. Things like spaciousness, comfort, economy and relatively cheap price.
The NV200 Taxi will be powered by the 2.0L 4-cylinder powertrain which helps bring down the taxi fleet fuel consumption and emissions. It’ll also be specially equipped with useful items that make life easier for the passengers, such as sliding doors, handles, reading lights, mobile chargers, and…
Besides the NV fleet, Nissan will also work on a pilot program for using electric taxis in New York. They will provide up to six 100-percent electric Nissan LEAFs to taxi owners for testing in 2012 as well as the charging stations to support their use.
Nissan NV200 Taxi features:
- 2.0L 4-cylinder powertrain, engineered to enhance the emission performance and fuel efficiency of the taxi fleet;
- Ample room for four passengers and their luggage, substantially improved over current taxi models;
- A low-annoyance horn with exterior lights that indicate when the vehicle is honking, helping reduce noise pollution;
- Sliding doors with entry step and grab handles, providing easy entry and exit;
- Transparent roof panel (with shade) that will provide unique views of the city;
- Independently controlled rear air conditioning with a grape phenol-coated air filter to improve cabin air quality;
- Attractive, breathable, antimicrobial, environmentally friendly and easy-to-clean seat material that simulates the look and feel of leather;
- Overhead reading lights for passengers and floor lighting to help locate belongings;
- A mobile charging station for passengers that includes a 12V electrical outlet and two USB plugs;
- A six-way adjustable driver’s seat that features both recline and lumbar adjustments, even with a partition installed;
- Standard driver’s navigation and telematics systems.
Nissan also focused on passenger safety when designing the NV200 taxi. Key safety features include:
- Front and rear-seat occupant curtain airbags, as well as seat-mounted airbags for the front row;
- Standard traction control and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC);
- Sliding doors to reduce the risk of pedestrians, cyclists and other motorists getting struck by doors opening unexpectedly;
- Lights that alert other road users that taxi doors are opening

Mercedes is marking the end of production for the short wheelbase Station Wagon in the successful G-Class range with the special “BA3 Final Edition” model.
The Final Edition G-Wagen comes with a host of AMG accessories and bespoke designer touches that make it a unique model, worthy of the hefty price tag of 90,511.40 Euro for the G 350 model and 100,685.90 Euro for the G 500.

The G350 is powered by the 155 kW (211 hp) and 540 newton metres BlueTEC a 6-cylinderdiesel engine with the very latest BlueTEC emissions control, while the G 500 gets the meaty 5.5-litre V8 petrol engine with 285 kW (388 hp) and 530 newton metres. Both models come with permanent all-wheel drive with off-road ratio and the 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission, plus electronically controlled traction system 4ETS, the Electronic Stability Program ESP and three differential locks.
unique features of the BA3 Final Edition on the outside include AMG flared wheel arches in the vehicle colour, 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and tyre size 265/60 R 18, a 3D Mercedes-Benz star in stainless steel, as well as an AMG radiator grille in a 3-louvre design with chrome highlights.
Inside the cbin you get stylish yet functional ambient lighting, chrome highlights on the frame and selector lever cover, seat adjustment controls and the loudspeakers in the front doors and the chrome luggage compartment sill panel with “Mercedes-Benz” lettering. Standard features also include an electric sliding/tilting sunroof, metallic paintwork, rear mudflaps, carbon-fibre look inserts in the protective strips, an ultrasonic reversing aid and a tyre pressure monitoring system in addition to the telephony system in the armrest, with a universal interface for various mobile phone cradles, extended telephone functions, a charging function and an external aerial for optimum reception.

The cars also benefit form some exclusive accessories such as rubber mats for the footwells and load compartment, as well as a load compartment cover including additional stowage boxes.
Freelander 2 Sport Special Edition
Land Rover is not going to make a full blooded Sport model of the Freelander with big V8 engine, like the Range Rover. That’d be too expensive and no one would buy it. Instead, from 2010 they offer a Sport Edition, which comes with unique styling, more luxury, efficient engine and great value for money.
Going on sale form January next year, the Freelander 2 Sport has a distinctive appearance to set it apart form the regular models. It comes in two colors: Santorini Black and Lago Grey and features 19″ limited edition diamond-turned alloy-wheels, rear spoiler and two-tone interior trim.
The interior of Freelander can be had in cloth/leather as standard or exclusive fine leather in contrasting Ebony and Storm with the sport styling pack. It also has an Ebony-coloured centre-console and lower fascia complemented with two-tone door casings. There is alsoembossed Sport emblem on the front and outer rear seat head restraints.
Freelander 2 Sport is powered by 2.2-liter TD4 diesel engine which is mated to a manual gearbox and features start/stop system. At 42 MPG and 179g/km CO2 emissions, it is one of the most economical and green cars in this segment.

Well, then comes this 599 GTB Fiorano by tuner Novitec Rosso who make this Ferrari's numbers look a lot like the Italian carmaker's F1 car.Novitec Rosso is a tuner with top engineering capabilities. This tuning work includes aerodynamic improvements and the largest street-legal brake parts with steel discs and six-piston brake calipers. The press release provides all the nitty details.The Novitec Rosso's Bi-Kompressor V12 adds 188 hp and 215 Nm of torque from the 'factory' 599 GTB (factory must come in quotes since Ferrari builds its cars by hand, not by assembly line). The price for this newly tuned engine is 46,900 euros, which comes to about 250 euros for each additional horse.Further pricing quotes were not released but you can expect them to be astronomical for this is as exotic as tuning gets |

Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition

Reworking a Carrera GT is one of those things that likely takes longer than you think. It's hard to tinker with a Porsche like this and expect to improve it easily.
So it's forgivable for Gemballa to be as of yet not finished with its Mirage GT Carbon Edition. But it had better be as impressive once they are. Hey, that's the game of expectations one engages in within the world of tuning super cars.
What we do know is very little. The claim is that the Mirage GT Carbon Edition will have 670 hp and be able to full sprint at 335 km/h (208 mph). 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is said to be reached in 3.7 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h comes in at 9.7, shaving 0.2 off the clock from the standard Carrera GT in both.
The name 'Carbon Edition' can only mean that Gemballa has put the Carrera GT on a serious diet through extensive use of carbon fiber parts and ceramic brakes. Although, that mere 0.2 seconds improvement in acceleration doesn't necessarily jive with an exceptionally high weight reduction.
Still, so far these photos make the Mirage GT look good. It's smooth and sleek and you're already most of the way there when you like the way a car looks, aren't you? Who ever wants a car they think is ugly?
