2011 Jaguar XK Review

The new XK Coupe now revealed to the world, Jaguar is pleased to announce another all-new XK - the XK Convertible.

Designed in parallel with the Cup as a model itself, the new XK Convertible uses the same advanced aluminum body structure to achieve excellent rigidity while minimizing weight. With just 1635 kg, the new convertible - so much lighter than its predecessor and rivals - is the lightest car of your competition.

A 300 hp 4.2 liter V8 engine and Jaguar Sequential steering wheel mounted gear shift control ensure a rapid implementation of 0-60 mph in just 6.0 seconds (0-100 km / h in 6 , 3 seconds) and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250kmh.

The luxurious three-lined fabric roof - which can be powered up or down in less than 18 seconds - fits completely out of sight beneath an aluminum barrel when retracted. An investment protection system comprising two 'hidden' aluminum hoops that deploy in the event of an incident is standard on all XK Convertibles.

"The new XK was designed from the ground up to be a beautiful convertible. It is a statement of confidence in the Jaguar design, elegant and powerful, with the performance and driving dynamics to match its appearance," it said Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum.
