New Porsche 911 GT2 RS with 620HP: First Official Photo and Details

This is the new 911 GT2 RS, successor to the 997-based GT2. All you really need to know is this: 620 horsepower from 3.6 twin-turbocharged liters, a 'Ring time of 7:18, and "improved fuel economy" (by 5%). For less important information, read on.
It's lost 154 lbs or 70kg, gained 90 horsepower, and it doesn't like you. This fiend comes with a standard 6-Speed manual gearbox, Porsche's fancy ceramic brakes, "unique anti-roll bars", new tires measuring 245/35 ZR 19 at the front and 325/30 ZR 19 at the rear that were specifically developed for this car,and a whole lot of other fancy suspension doo-dads.
You'll also notice an abundance of carbon fiber and matte black paint.
Inside, carbon fiber 2-piece buckets are standard, as are those nylon straps replacing the door handles.
The official speed numbers are 0 to 60 (96km/h) in 3.4 (no doubt due to traction issues) and a 205 mph or 330km/h top-end barrier.
The GT2 RS is being limited to a scant 500 units coming in at $245,000 a pop (cheaper than most estimates), and will be debuting at the Moscow Auto Show on August 25th 2010.

SpeedART Creates the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo-Based BTR II with 580HP

The new Porsche 911 Turbo is one of the fastest production cars in the market, but that wasn't enough for SpeedART as the German tuner decided to up the ante with the introduction of BTR II 580. Thanks to the reprogrammed ECU and a new sport exhaust system that comes with a sound control switch, SpeedART managed to squeeze another 80 ponies and 120Nm of torque from the 3.8-liter turbocharged flat-six boosting output to 580HP.

That's good enough for a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 325km/h or 202 mph for the PDK double-clutch model. The power kit is priced at €9,890.

And if that's not satisfactory, the German tuner said that it is also preparing a more powerful engine kit with 650HP.

The engine mods are complemented by new 20-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tires size 245/30 up front and 325/25 at the back for a total cost of €6,640 while buyers may also choose to upgrade the BTR II 580's suspension.

SpeedART also offers a bodykit that consists of a front apron, side skirts, rear diffuser, rooftop spoiler and a rear wing plus Porsche 911 GT3-style stickers for €5,100.

The package can be rounded off with numerous interior upgrades including sport seats with carbon shell in leather, alcantara or special design variations, a sport steering wheel with F1 shift paddles for PDK and carbon fiber decorative trim.

Porsche Unveils New 911 GT3 R 480HP Racer

Building on the 911 GT3 Cup, Porsche has developed yet another racing car for the 2010 motorsport season. The new 911 GT3 R is based on the international FIA GT3 regulations and its designed to replace the 911 GT3 Cup S. The 'R' model is powered by a larger-displacement four-liter six-cylinder boxer engine that delivers an output of 480-horsepower driving the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox.

Weighing in at just 1,200 kg or 2,646 lb, Porsche's new racer makes use of the extra-wide body of the 911 GT3 RS street-legal sports car.

The German firm says that it has equipped the car with an anti-lock brake system (ABS), traction control and an electronic throttle with 'blip' function on gearbox down-changes in order to make the new GT3 racer easier for drivers to get used to than its predecessor.

According to Porsche, the new model is more appropriate for the ambitious amateur racing driver rather than purely experienced professionals.

The 911 GT3 R will make its world debut on 14 January 2010 at the Birmingham Motor Show with first cars to be delivered to Customer Teams from spring 2010. The base price of the 911 GT3 R is €279,000 (US$ 415,000) plus local sales tax/VAT.
